I’m honored to be chosen as one of the artists for Somerset Graff Jam Vol. 2. My piece,Abstract Expression created with spray bottles, explores mental health through the lens of schizophrenia. This abstract artwork features random placements of facial features to symbolize the senses of hearing, seeing, and smelling. It is intentionally confusing and fading to reflect the emotions associated with the condition, such as perceiving non-existent sounds, hearing murmurs in place of conversations, and feeling judged by others. The piece uses bright colors to encourage those facing challenges to remain positive and hopeful.
